These are original 70s flare kits for 71-96 Chevy and GMC vans, dead stock from their original distributor! This is the classic 4 piece kit, the shape is "standard" as far as we're concerned. Short lip, subtle sweep at the rear, all above the bottom of the van body.
We do not produce fiberglass. This kit is part of a giant distributor's lot that was dug out of barn storage, sorted, catalogued, and fitted. For more information on our vintage van fiberglass body kits, fitting, local pickup, etc, check out our FLARE PAGE.
Overall, these flares seem to be high quality fiberglass, they've kept their shape well in 40 years of barn storage, with no delamination or cracks. Due to the way these traveled over the years, they have some chips, abrasions, scratches and stains in the finish that will need to be taken care of in paint prep. Theres nothing major that requires repair, it's all cosmetic, and I believe they'll clean up beautifully for paint.
There are some specifics to point out for each of the variants available. Please read:
78-95/96: We've only got one set of these available, and they're not absolutely perfect. Beyond the regular wear and tear described above, the front right has a little bit of bubbling in the gelcoat, its not super pronounced and its very hard to photo, it'll block easy. The front left has a stress fracture in the gelcoat that is not structural at all, blocking and a little filler should take care of it no problem. PLEASE SCROLL THRU TO SEE MARKED PHOTOS!
71-77: Two of these sets are available, they just have the regular wear and tear described above.
71-77 "B Grade" A (Damaged): This set is discounted due to damage from storage and imperfections that will take extra prep work for paint. You're already gonna be doing a little blocking and filler on these, why not save a few bucks? Beyond the regular wear and tear described above, the front right in this set has a lot of bubbling in the gelcoat that stained in storage. The front left has some minor bubbling as well. The right rear has heavy chipping along a ~5" section of the outside edge. PLEASE SEE MARKED PHOTOS!
71-77 "B Grade" B (Damaged): This set is discounted due to damage from storage and imperfections that will take extra prep work for paint. You're already gonna be doing a little blocking and filler on these, why not save a few bucks? Beyond the regular wear and tear described above, the front right has heavy chipping along the inside edge of the flare where it meets the van body. This will take some extra filler, but if youre blending the flares to the van body its almost a nonissue. Theres a similar shorter but deeper chip on the inside of the right rear flare.
